What's new at Haunted Asylum for 2026? Do you have any new rides, attractions, or special features that Haunt Seekers should know about?

We're still pretty new (only our 2nd year).
We're just hoping people come, enjoy themselves, and want to come back next year.

What are you most excited about for the 2026 Halloween Season?

We're excited that our haunt will be bigger and better than last year. Way more fine tuned for sure.

What differentiates Haunted Asylum from other local haunts in Maine?

First and foremost, it's 100% free.
We're a small haunt. Fully built, maintained, and run by 2 people.
We do it for the people who love halloween as much as we do. We just want to give people rad halloween memories, like we had as kids.

How long has Haunted Asylum been in business? Can you tell us a bit more about Haunted Asylum's history?

This is our second year doing Haunted Asylum. We had the idea for it mid 2025, so we tried it. We threw some stuff together about 2 months in advance, and gave it a go.
With little time to plan, and 0 advertising, it was a hit.
We had planned on a 2-3 hour night, and ended up being there for almost 6 hours. So this year we've extended it to 2 nights, and designed flyers. Advertised on Facebook pages, and on this one. Hoping it blows up this year, and for years to come.

What's your favorite experience since opening Haunted Asylum?

The overall positivity from the guests.
People that go through 4, 5, 6 times, and then call their friends to come.
Being told it brought one couple right back to old school 90s halloween.
Its all about scaring the people enough to want to come back again and again.

How long is a typical haunt experience at Haunted Asylum from start to finish?

Full walk through takes 10-12 minutes to really enjoy the sights and take everything in.

On a scale from 1 to 10, how scary would you say Haunted Asylum is? Why?

Firm 5. Definitely a handful of of jump scares. But definitely way more than that to see.

What inspired you to open up a haunted attraction? What's your favorite part of the business?

Our love for halloween and everything spooky.
Because halloween is a holiday that brings together whole towns. Everyone loves to get scared and eat candy.
Our favorite part of the business is doing it for the love of it, and giving EVERY person the ability to enjoy it, no matter their financial status.

How has new technology (i.e. animatronics, special props, etc) helped you to enhance Haunted Asylum?

Most of our scenes are entirely animatronic based, so it's definitely helped us a great deal. 99% animatronics and lights. We definitely prefer them over traditional haunt actors, because it's much easier predict what will happen, and when.
We're the only 2 actors in the whole haunt.

Can Haunted Asylum accommodate large groups? How many people can experience Haunted Asylum together as a group?

Due to constraints of our walking path, and the area taken up by animatronics, we can accommodate a group of 3/4 people at once.

Does Haunted Asylum offer any special deals, discounts, or coupons?

Our special deal will always be that it's free.
